Those of you who are wondering what you will
do for fresh produce once the regular season is
over—here is your answer.
Seven weeks of wonderful fall produce such as
winter squash, pie pumpkins, carrots, radishes,
Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage,
kale, spinach, Swiss chard, lettuce, parsnips,
tatsoi, leeks, rutabaga, beets, spicy mix, and
various Asian greens. Share sizes will be
comparable to what you were receiving in June.
Also, new in the fall season will be fresh eggs.
Twice during the season you will receive a
dozen farm fresh eggs from Grandma’s Eggs in
Sugar Grove. If you’ve never had farm fresh
eggs, you are in for a treat—wonderful fluffy
texture with dark yellow or orange yolks and
shells in shades of brown, white, and even
green.
Starts the week of October 27, every week
excepting the week of Thanksgiving, through
the week of December 15. (Sorry—no half
shares available.)
Pick-up will be Thursdays and Saturdays at
Inglenook Pantry, 11 N. 5th St., in Geneva. If
you haven’t been to Inglenook Pantry, it is a
delightful place. Connie makes wonderful
quiches with our chard and broccoli and Mark
makes fabulous vegetable soups and pickled
red cabbage. Saturday mornings we will also be
participating in the Geneva Winter Market held
at Inglenook—but more about that later.
