About the speakers:
Father John Surrette is a co-founder of Spiritearth, an organization focused on listening to
the Universe and our Earth. Father Surrette writes about the Ecozoic Consiousness, the
understanding of the whole Earth; and our human understanding that we are a piece of it,
much like a rock, plant or bird, not separate from it.
Rev. David Rhoads is a professor of the New Testament at Luther Theological Seminary at
Chicago. He has been described as an “Enthusiastic Environmentalist” and is the Director
of Web of Creation which “foster(s) the movement for personal transformation to a just and
sustainable world from religious perspectives.”
Rev. Clare Butterfield is the director of Faith in Place. Faith in Place is an organization
working to help all people to “reflect deeply on our own faiths; integrate the teachings of
these faiths into our economic and ecological practices; and work together for a shared
future which is economically just and ecologically sustainable.”
